Day by day
Your itinerary
Timings and camps can shift with the season and wildlife; your guide adapts each day to give you the best sightings.
Day 1: Arusha to the Serengeti
Fly or drive to the Serengeti and begin looking for the leading herds of the migration on the way to your first camp.
Day 2: The central corridors
Track the columns of wildebeest and zebra moving through the Seronera area, and the lions and hyenas that follow them.
Day 3: To the migration hotspot
Transfer by road or short flight to the season’s hotspot: Ndutu and the southern plains from about January to March, or Kogatende on the Mara River from about July to October.
Day 4: Calving plains or river crossings
A full day with the herds: newborn calves and predator hunts in the south, or waiting at the riverbank for a crossing in the north.
Day 5: The predators of the migration
Follow cheetahs, lion prides and hyena clans working the edges of the herds. Optional balloon flight at dawn.
Day 6: Last full day with the herds
One more full day in the field; patience here is often rewarded with the moments people travel across the world to see.
Day 7: Finale and return
A final sunrise drive before flying back to Arusha from the nearest airstrip.
